Parents will enjoy a mature level of humor for themselves while reading it to their children. I borrowed or bought the series for my son in the 70's-80's. After keeping and passing along the ones I bought to his daughter, now I am buying the rest for her. I was disappointed that the book was shipped in a thin cardboard mailer and left by the shipper on my front porch on a rainy day. It could easily have been put in a plastic bag, or placed between the storm door and inside door. The paper jacket was ruined, and I didn't have time to deal with the replacement process offered by Amazon.

An old favorite- so happy to have it again!
These Church Mice books have been favorites of ours for almost 40 years. I read them to my children and now I will read them to my grandchildren. Very clever dialogue and wonderful visuals, so they're enjoyable for adults as well as children. Probably more for older children than toddlers, but you will love them and so will they!
Beautiful new condition book. Classic Christmas comedy
Sampson the church cat lives in an uneasy relationship with the uncountable church mice. There is always a problem to be solved and its usually Sampson in the midst of the drama. The pictures are exquisite and tell as much of the story as the words do.
These are terrific kid books. And fun for adults as well. I can't understand why the series is largely out of print. We were in Wales recently at Hay-on-Wye, the 'National Book Town of Wales', which among the numerous used book stores has two devoted to kids (one in town, one just outside). Between them we were able to dig up a single Graham Oakley Church Mice book. Frustrating.
All the books in this series are just amazing. The intricate detail of the pictures has to be seen to be believed. I read all of these to my children and I am now collecting them again for my granddaughter. She's far too young for them at present but I am looking forward already to the time when we can read them together.
