Intermix Nation is a well written dystopian society novel that takes you on an emotional roller coaster. This novel delves into some heavy topics that are predominant in today's society; classism, racism, equality, forgiveness, and dealing with loss as a result of traumatic events. The characters are very well developed and relatable. This truly is a coming of age story following Nazirah and Adamek; their lives so different, yet the same...their struggles in dealing with their actions or inactions...how they come to terms with their feelings concerning injustice committed against or by them... An overarching theme in this novel is forgiveness; forgiving oneself and others for the sins they commit and learning how to live with them and not let them consume you. I can't wait to read more of M.P. Attardo's novels!

Wow! There were so many moments where you couldn't stop to put this book down. The characters were so well written you could feel their emotion. This story was written about a fantasy world, but in truth it could be real in many ways. I would recommend this book to everyone and I give it five BIG stars!
I loved it couldn't put it down for hours.
The only thing was it need an it more diversity I know it might sound crazy.
But to understand why I'm say that you have to read the book.
A fascinating read into the mind of a new and budding author. This is a book about a future world,but so relevant to today's culture that one can learn a great deal about diversity and acceptance. I loved the main character, Nazirah, a strong willed, independent young woman who has a list of shortcomings so rampant in most youth yet, has the compassion and sense to admit them and surprisingly even learns from them! Of course, my emotions run hot and cold concerning Adamek, the handsome young man in her life!! Nazirah's parent's bring a human element to the story, one that any parent can releate too. A story that compels the reader to turn the pages to see what's coming next! Comparable to the Hunger Games without the killing, this is a great read for all ages!

Love the cover and its impact on my senses and how I had to ask why does she have a chain wrapped around her hand!
Intermix Nation is set in a post-apocalyptic world in which intermix – multi-racial people – are denied basic human rights. A central capital revels in absurd luxuries, supported by four struggling territories.

Nazirah Nation – the protagonist – is an intermix orphan. Her parents were killed by an assassin from the capital (Adamek). Her brother, Niko, is the head of a revolution against the capital. After her parents’ death, Nazirah goes to live at the rebel compound with her brother and her best friend, Cato. She’s not particularly interested in the revolution; she just wants to live her life in safety.

Then Niko sends Nazirah on a mission to another territory – to make a deal with Adamek. In exchange for his help, Adamek’s given amnesty and moves to the compound.

Over the course of the book, Nazirah has to come to terms with the revolution, the capital, her parents’ murderer, and herself. She has to fight to survive and to protect those she loves.

Intermix Nation is a good blend of pretty much everything action, adventure, speculative fiction, romance, ethical dilemmas, etc. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who likes the Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Twilight, or anything else YA – this book covers it all.
Someone suggested I read this book I had 3 or 4 books I was reading at the time . It was a while before I ordered Ms Attardos book. I had some back ground on it. It was her first book and had picked it up. Well , I had difficulty putting the book down, for me, that doesn't happen often. I was amazed at her skill and ability to keep you wanting more A strong lead character Nazirah out for revenge on the person who murdered her parents (as I read on I could not help feeling this character was the author describing her own feelings,This thought made reading more interesting Imagining who Mary is.) Adamek a man she could admire, because, she could see beyond his cruelty, to unveil his kindness,being a strong woman she could bring this out in him This odd relationship could only be possible in the society depicted, death, suffering,and uncertainty, dominate.I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to the next by this author I could say a lot more but you should read it yourself you won't be disapointed
