Huge Deal Library Edition 21 Wall Street Lauren Layne Samantha Cook Zachary Webber 9781441735706 Books

Huge Deal is the third book in Lauren Layne’s 21 Wall Street series. This one is the long-awaited story of brooding, alpha Wolfe Kennedy Dawson and his very off-limits, secretary extraordinaire Kate Henley. If you have read the previous two books in the series, you will know these two take pride in torturing each other and will do anything and everything to get under other’s skin. Even date their boss’ kid brother.

When Kate begins dating Kennedy’s younger sibling, Jack, who she comes to find is just as easy on the eyes and has a knack for telling corny jokes. She realizes that he is easy to talk to and the complete opposite of her boss. As Kennedy see the two together on more than one occasion, he has to come to terms with the fact that he’s starting to see Kate differently and maybe his feelings for her go beyond employer/employee.

Once their hearts are on the line, the two people who thrive on order realize that love is unpredictable. But well-worth it when it is true love. Maybe all the time Kennedy and Kate spent annoying the other…they were just investing in forever.

Layne wrote the comedy, tension, love story between Kennedy and Kate perfectly. And when they FINALLY let their guards down, their scenes were almost fan-worthy. But I also loved the comedic scenes with their friends Matt, Sabrina, Ian, and Lara. Even Jack and Jarod. This group reminded me of another close-knit group in Central Perk coffee house. Being an Uber-Friends lover myself, I appreciated the likenesses of both.

This book was my favorite of the three in the series. And way worth waiting for! I can’t wait for more…. Who will be the Rose DeWitt-Bukater to Jack Dawson? Will she also allow all the Titanic references? And who will steal charming, billionaire Jarod Lanham’s heart? We shall see...

Huge Deal Library Edition 21 Wall Street Lauren Layne Samantha Cook Zachary Webber 9781441735706 Books Reviews

There are books with in romance series where you anxiously wait for a specific hero/heroine to find their HEA... By reading the 21 Wall Street series there are subtle hints of ... more... between Kennedy and Kate. The first two books we are left wondering about what the "more" is... Huge Deal finally gives us the "more."
I've been anxiously waiting for this book and I was in book heaven. I had butterflies in my stomach, heartaches, stomach lurches, and tears, smiles and sighs as Kennedy and Kate battle through some of their toughest emotions.
Huge Deal is beautifully written, clever, and full of all the emotional feels you want while reading. My favorite book of the series.
Kate Henley and Kennedy Dawson have always had a contentious rapport with one another. They work well together, but Kennedy has always been the proper, buttoned-up, and stolid one out of the three of her bosses and Kate loves to push those buttons whenever possible. But she also pretty much loved Kennedy from the moment they first met years ago when they were both starting out at Wolfe Investments. For Kate, her feelings changed when she overheard the guys making a pact NOT to date her. Kate was looking for an all-consuming love, not an unrequited one. Overtime she's been able to put her feelings aside - or so she says. When Kate meets Kennedy's younger brother they get along well from the get-go. Kate is tired of living a life only for work and decides it's time to take steps toward that happily-ever-after she's dreamed of.

Kennedy always pictured himself marrying some well to-do woman of society, whose family runs in the same circle as his parents. Kate certainly doesn't fit that description. But when Kate and his brother start seeing each other, Kennedy is surprised to find that his reaction is jealousy. He starts letting himself see Kate for the first time, and realizes that maybe he's been missing what's been right in front of him this whole time.

Anyone who has been reading Lauren Layne's 21 Wall Street series knows that Kate and Kennedy have been circling around one another from the beginning. They are the characters in the first book that you know would be perfect together, but it takes until their own book to finally get the closure we all need. Oftentimes I feel like there's a lot of pressure put on this type of storyline by the time we get to it. In this case, Lauren Layne has been dangling the idea of these two in front of readers for two books now.

Honestly, Huge Deal turned out to be everything I was looking for in Kate and Kennedy's story and then some.

There was never a doubt in my mind that these two belonged together. Huge Deal just emphasizes how complicated that can be. Lauren Layne throws quite a few things in our pair's way, but these things felt like they sprung from a very real place. It never felt like it was about prolonging the story, stretching it out to its fullest extent, but more like how just life itself tends to throw us for a loop an often unexpected or inopportune moments.

At each of these moments you discover more about yourself. As is the case with Kennedy finally figuring out his feelings. I really loved these revelatory moments for him. But I liked how these moments didn't change Kennedy. He's still the person who completely assesses a situation before making any kind of moves. He's observant and not easy to dissuade.

These things come in handy as, on the other side, Kate ends up with a life situation that causes her to question everything she always thought she wanted out of love. While Kennedy had his own self-realization going on, Kate went through a huge journey on her own. I liked that, once committed, Kennedy doesn't give up on Kate, instead he becomes the person she needs that she can rely on no matter how difficult it may become.

I wasn't prepared for everything that Kate and Kennedy had to work through in this story, but I think that it was worth it to finally see them get their story.

Plus, I now know that Kennedy's brothers need a spin-off series ASAP.

If you're new to the series, you could definitely read them each as standalones, but I would highly recommend reading this in series order. It's a most satisfying ending.
Once I started reading this book I could not put it down. That's almost always the case with any LL book, but this one had me feeling all the feels. There were so many parts of this book that had tears streaming down my face - happy tears and sad tears - tears of angst and tears of joy. These two people are clearly supposed to be together, but there's so many walls between them. I loved watching them tear down these walls to finally find one another. This was one of my favorite LL books and I absolutely loved Kennedy and Kate equally. If you haven't read an LL book, please pick this one up (even though it's part of a trilogy you can still read it as a stand alone)- you won't regret it!

p.s. Can we please get Jarod's story next!!
